During the first lecture, I was made aware of the new presentation tools in ICT which is interactive whiteboard or IWB. This is an example of the new tools that can use in presentation during the class after we go to practical or teaching at school. I never heard or use IWB before this. But when Dr. Sofia shown to us on how the interactive white board look like, I think that it was quit interesting for me. Even though the board like a white board in our class but actually, it just not a board but we can touch the screen as touch phone. It is so interesting for me.
First of all, from my learning, IWB is a large interactive display that connects to computer and projector. A projector projects the computer’s desktop onto the board’s surface where the users can control the computer by using a pen, finger, stylus or other device. The computer images are displayed on the board by a digital projector, where we can be seen and manupilated. For me, IWB can replaced traditional whiteboard or flipcharts in some classrooms. Even where traditional board are still using in the schools now, but the IWB often can be as supplements to them by connecting to a school network digital video distribution system.
During our class, an instructor was giving me the opportunity to touch the screen and calibrate it. After I had learned more on how to use the IWB, I can apply it to each of my task or assignments given by Dr Sofia that requires the presentation. I admit that it is quit difficult for me to familiarize with the uses of IWB, but I always ask for guidance from instructor and friends in helps me to use it. I’m not give up with my difficulties that I faced. I will try my best to master in use of IWB.
